To get the most out of this course, you'll need some free software tools.

For programming exercises, we recommend Python (available at python.org) and a text editor or IDE such as Visual Studio Code, PyCharm Community Edition, or IDLE (which comes with Python).

All recommended software is free and open-source. Detailed installation instructions will be provided in the relevant units.
